Time Domain and Frequency Domain
The theory of sound is our passion. Below is a short description of how this theory works. For a deeper, more technical description, click here.
Conventional audio theory focuses largely on amplitude-frequency characteristics (F-characteristics). Time Domain audio theory, on the other hand, focuses on the whole sound wave.
Amplitude and phase characteristics can be obtained by Fast Fourier Transformations on the sound.
Other speakers place the highest priority on improving the F-characteristics, so there is little or no focus on the phase-frequency characteristics.
Accurate reproduction of the original and complete sound wave is the only way to truly and faithfully reproduce sound - a high-quality difference that sets Eclipse apart.
Not only does sound reach your ear as it happened at the recording - you feel you are there - but it is also pitched for perfect timing, so there is less interference between sounds.
The result is a victory for sound enjoyment. Time Domain gives you a better feeling, presence and experience of sound that can improve every recording from MP3 pop tunes to the finest renditions of the classical masters.
